Flitterfoot's grandson, Mortie lived with his grandfather and recalls many stories about his time in Kentucky

Mortie Shepherd, now in his 90's and living in Claypool
next to his son, Lewis (aka Wedstell) Shepherd and his wife Pat,
vividly recalls his days in Kentucky and his time spent
with his Grandpa "Flitterfoot" and his Dad Lewis.

Here Mortie shares many of stories about his life
growing up at his Granpa's house, times in the
coal mines, his father's hard work and
his subsequent journey to Indiana.

Lewis and Mort make some mighty fine apple cider, and the apples make for a mighty tasty pie!

every year. (And here's a secret for
you...they sell it to passersby so drop on
in and buy a jug and a bushel of
apples to take home.)

Lewis and Pat enjoy their country life
in Claypool, In, where the simple things in
life mean the most. They have a spaciously
lovely home on a nice spread with apple
orchards and spacious pastures to train
and raise purebread beagles as just
one of a dozen hobbies.

is masterful and he was proud
to share it with Shepherdweb.

Pat's home is a decorator's dream with large rooms and a kitchen to die for!

Pat has a few hobbies of her own,
including making some of the best apple
butter in the midwest. Afterall, they've
got that orchard of apples - remember.

What good ol' country boy doesn't
admire his guns. Lewis has a fine
collection of rifles and shotguns that
he was kind enough to share with us.
